With its long history of dairying, it’s no wonder this dale is home to the Wensledale Creamery a source of the world-famous Wensleydale Cheese – nibble on all its varieties in the unique tasting room. Hawes has plenty of traditional shops and places to eat and is a great base to head out on a walk or cycle ride, as well as being home to the Dales Countryside Museum.
Then on to Leyburn. One of the town’s main attractions is its bustling market, which takes place every Friday and offers a wide range of local produce, crafts, and gifts. Visitors can also explore the town’s many independent shops, cafes, and pubs, which offer a warm welcome and a chance to sample some of the region’s finest food and drink.
